Brecon Pride 2025 – What a day!

Brecon Pride 2025 was an unforgettable day of glorious sunshine, fantastic music, memorable performances, and above all, the inclusive, joyful atmosphere that makes Pride so special.

Pride’s ethos of inclusivity and diversity, “where everyone feels accepted and valued, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity” (Brecon Pride, 2025) is at the heart of what we do here at Brecon and District Mind. Once again, we were thrilled to be part of this vibrant, celebratory event, standing alongside our community in solidarity and joy.

The Day
From the moment we arrived to set up our stall, we felt completely welcomed. The warmth and camaraderie between stallholders created a spirit of connection that ran right through the day.

It was a pleasure to meet so many people who stopped by to say hello, share their stories, and chat about the celebrations. We’re always honoured when people are willing to share their lived experiences with us, and these conversations are what truly make events like this meaningful.

A Huge Thank You
Special thanks to everyone who bought raffle tickets for our beautiful hamper, and to those who picked up flags, face paint, and badges in support of our work. We’re especially grateful to Brecon Co-Op, Morrisons, and Triggs Mill Café for their generous contributions towards the hamper – and of course, congratulations to our winner, Marie Williams!

Why It Matters
At Brecon and District Mind, we’re committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and to providing accessible, compassionate mental health support for all, including our local LGBTQ+ community.

We recognise that LGBTQ+ people can be disproportionately affected by mental health challenges, often due to stigma, discrimination, and isolation.

We’re here to help change that.

Get Support
Our services include free and paid-for counselling, daily drop-in support (1–4pm at Ty Croeso Community Wellbeing Centre, Free Street, Brecon), community groups, and signposting to other inclusive services.

If you or someone you know could benefit from a listening ear, advice, or mental health support, please reach out.

You are always welcome here.

With Gratitude & Looking Ahead
We’d like to give a heartfelt thank-you to our incredible volunteers; Glynn, Allan, and Crad, for giving their time, energy, and smiles to make our stall such a welcoming space.

If you’d like to get involved with Brecon and District Mind at future events, whether that’s lending a hand on the day, helping with fundraising, or simply being part of our vibrant community presence, we’d love to hear from you.

Together, we can keep showing up, celebrating diversity, and making sure everyone in our community feels seen, valued, and supported.
