Croeso i / Welcome Gethin

Gethin Amoss joined Brecon & District Mind this week. Here he introduces himself and the project he will be delivering at Brecon & District Mind, funded by WCVA’s Volunteering in Wales Funding.

Gethin says

Hey, I’m Gethin, a new Project Coordinator with Brecon & District Mind. I’ll be overseeing the Valuing Volunteers project which aims to improve the overall systems and experience for all our incredible volunteers. I come to Mind with a range of local and international professional experiences and a big heart to learn, serve, and create a positive impact.

In the role of Project Coordinator: Valuing Volunteers, I will be serving as the project coordinator for Brecon & District Mind’s WCVA grant award. This project aims to encourage a person-centred volunteer culture, develop the organisations volunteer policy and practice, and acknowledging our varied volunteer opportunities, imbed and upskill volunteer leads across all staff.

This process will also aim to achieve the Investing in Volunteers Quality Mark award, which is the UK quality standard for good practice in volunteer management.

I’m hoping to understand, and then work together with staff and volunteers to better our current volunteer practices, foster consistency and excellence and develop a volunteer culture that we can all be proud of; one that makes a healthy difference to volunteers, staff, and our local community.’
