What is Counselling?

‘Your therapist will be impartial but understanding. They will listen to you without judgment and help you explore your thoughts and emotions. They may offer information, but they won’t tell you what you should think or do.’

Counselling from Brecon & District Mind

Our counselling service is available for people aged over 16 by self-referral, or a referral from a professional. We are able to offer low cost or, depending on funding & eligibility criteria, free counselling. Sessions can be face to face in Brecon, telephone or via Zoom/ Teams.

After we have received your referral and full information, you will be contacted by a member of the counselling team for an initial discussion.  At this point, if counselling is the way forward you will be referred to a counsellor or added to our waiting list.

We currently have a waiting list for our low cost counselling if not eligible for funded counselling. It is currently 9+ months.

Counselling for others

If you would like to sponsor a course of counselling sessions for someone else, perhaps an employee or client, please contact us to discuss further.

I feel like a different person has emerged! A person able to deal with the inevitable difficulties the pandemic has thrown up along with life’s little quirks. I feel a confidence in life that I have not felt previously, in fact I do actually feel now, in the true sense of the word, hope for many healthy years to come.

This service is offered on an appointment only basis. Please contact our office on 01874 611529 for more information, or email [email protected]
